CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Shots fired into a north suburban home Sunday missed a child that was sleeping on a mattress struck by gunfire.
Officers arrived at 1 a.m. to call of shots fired into a home in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue, Evanston police said.
Several people were home, including two children, ages five and 10, when shots passed through a wall and struck a mattress where one of the children was sleeping, Evanston police said.
No one was injured, Evanston police said.
It is believed that the shooting may have been related to ongoing violence between two gangs, Evanston police said.
Two murders in the area prompted police to recently increase patrols in the area, Evanston police said.
Evanston police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
