The images out of Newtown are heartbreaking. Children crying, clinging to their parents, after the horrifying mass murder of their classmates. Newtown's tragedy is an American tragedy. All across the U.S. and in Detroit strangers are praying for the victims and the survivors. Christopher Marks with Mt. Zion Covenant Church of Detroit helped organize a vigil for those seeking solace and comfort.

"The power of prayer is you don't have to handle heavy things on your own, give it to God and he will take care of it for you," Marks said. "There is violence everywhere everyday, with every different act, we hurt a little bit more, but there is hope and that is what we want to extend tonight."
