New bike lanes open on Dearborn

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago's newest bike lanes opened on Dearborn between Kinzie and Polk Friday.

This is the city's first two-way bike route with traffic signals.

Some drivers are upset about the bike lanes, but Mayor Emanuel says they'll get used to them or they can always take the CTA, he says.

At the opening, city leaders will announce a plan calling for more than 600 miles of bike lanes within the next eight years.

The lanes are the mayor's attempt to make the city more bike-friendly.
