'Colonel Phillips' lawsuit: Puppy shot by cop moving to federal court

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The case of the dog shot by a Chicago police officer last week is going to federal court.

The Colonel's owners sued the city and the police officer they say shot the dog.

Lawyers for the city requested the case be moved to federal court because the lawsuit claims the family's constitutional rights were violated.

The independent police review authority is investigating the shooting.
