Ex-Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick wanted in 2 courts

Posted: Updated:

DETROIT (AP) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has a full day of court appearances on his planner.

Kilpatrick's corruption trial in federal court is resuming Wednesday after a one-day break. In the afternoon, he's due in front of Judge David Groner at Wayne County Circuit Court.

Groner is the judge who sent Kilpatrick to prison for violating probation in a case that forced him out of office. Groner may get an update on restitution. Kilpatrick still owes the city of Detroit more than $800,000 for obstructing justice in a civil lawsuit.

His $500 November payment was days late. In federal court, Kilpatrick, his father and pal Bobby Ferguson are accused of widespread corruption.
