A 14-year-old Gwinnett County girl claims a fellow a student raped her. Police say it happened last week in broad daylight near Dacula High School.
The victim said that a 17-year-old senior, whom she knows, approached her after school, according to police. The two then walked across the street to the rear of Dacula Sports where she says he attacked and raped her, authorities said.
According to the report obtained by FOX 5, the victim says the suspect pushed her against the wall, forcibly removed her pants and pushed her to the ground. She said that she punched him in the face and throat but it was not until he momentarily relaxed his grip on her that she managed to get away.
Students said they were frightened to hear about the alleged attack, especially because it occurred during the daytime.
Gwinnett county authorities say they are actively investigating the case.
Parents and students who FOX 5 talked with said they have not heard anything from the school system, possibly because this alleged incident did not happen on school property. The school system did not return a call made by FOX 5.
