Police in Smyrna are looking for man who is wanted in connection with the death of his wife on December 5.
They say 35-year-old Derrick Williams is wanted for killing his 33-year-old wife, Finesse Dawson. According to autopsy results from the Cobb County Medical Examiner, Dawson's wife was strangled to death.
Williams allegedly told Dawson's family and friends that she died from an overdose, but they say they didn't believe him because he has a history of violence.
Robert Ballard, the victim's brother, said that he saw evidence of violence in his sister's face.
"Back in September, a couple of months ago, she had two black eyes from him. I mean, he broke her nose before," said Ballard.
Robert said that Finesse would often tell cover up stories for Derrick to protect him. They were married a little more than a year, but were involved for many years, the family said.
"That was her first love. They'd been together for like 15 years. If she knew better, she would do better," Ballard said.
Finesse's death has also impacted her extended family at the Metro PCS store where she worked.
"Sunday was my daughter's birthday, and my daughter is her goddaughter. So, I knew she wouldn't miss the party because I saw her Saturday," said Xenia Villafana.
Finesse never showed up and news about her death began to spread among her co-workers.
Xenia also said that Finesse told her Williams was violent.
"She'd call me sometimes, on certain occasions, and tell me she couldn't do it anymore. It was too much to handle. But at the same time she always stuck by his side because that was her husband,' said Villafana.
Police say warrants have been obtained for malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, concealing the death of other and the possession of marijuana less than 1 oz.
Smyrna police consider Williams armed and dangerous, and ask anyone with information to call 911 or 770-434-9481.
Friends and co-workers remembered Finesse at a vigil at her home in Smyrna on Tuesday night.
