CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
An off-duty Chicago Police officer was carjacked Monday night in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The female officer was in the 9000 block of South Crandon Avenue about 9 p.m. when three men -- one of them armed -- confronted her and demanded her money, purse, and SUV, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
The three robbers fled in her white 2012 Buick Enclave with her purse, Gaines said.
The 58-year-old officer was not injured and her weapon was not taken, Gaines said.
No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
This is the second time in as many days that an off-duty Chicago Police officer has been the victim of a crime.
Sunday night on the Southwest Side an off-duty officer was shot during an attempted robbery. The officer was released from Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn Monday afternoon.
