PARK RIDGE, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

FIRST ON FOX: There's more controversy for Maine Township High School District 207.

One school is being sued over a hazing scandal and now there's video of a hallway beating at another campus.

FOX 32 News obtained dramatic, exclusive iPhone video of the beating of a female student that took place in the hallway of Maine South High School. Park Ridge police have made an arrest.

Since she is a minor, the 15-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday at the Park Ridge police department. She came with her parents to surrender herself to police.

FOX 32 spoke with the alleged victim, 14, and her father outside Maine South prior to the arrest.

"I was terrified. I didn't know what was going to happen. She was waiting at my locker for me," the victim said.

She was knocked to the ground during the attack, and said she blacked out.

"It's a sad situation for everybody," the victim's father said. "Obviously I want my daughter to be okay. I want her to be safe and not hurt. She was diagnosed with a concussion. I guess the right thing that I want to happen is for this other individual to be brought up on charges. It's not okay. It's not right. Bullying is not right, hazing is not right."

Park Ridge Deputy Police Chief Lou Jogmen also spoke with FOX 32 News. He said the 15-year-old suspect was charged and petitioned to juvenile court, where they will look at the case. The charge is simple battery - a misdemeanor.

The recorded incident took place around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police determined the 15-year-old was the aggressor in the attack, primarily based on the video of the beating and witness statements.

"Typically in these types of events there can be mutual combatants," Jogmen said. "That makes it a little easier for us to determine how to handle it. In this case she was clearly the aggressor so charges were appropriate."

Park Ridge police are recommending charges to the Cook County State's Attorney. Jogmen said they'll deal with that matter within the week.

Both girls are Maine South freshmen, and the victim said she has been bullied by this girl repeatedly over the last several months. The victim also said she and her father's complaints to school officials fell on deaf ears.

"We approached them about a bullying incident, a hazing incident earlier in the year. My daughter informed me that the hazing a bullying got worse after reporting it," the victim's father said.

District 207 released this statement Thursday: "Maine South authorities mediated the situation at that time and instructed the girls to report to administrators any further incidents. Administrators heard nothing from either student until earlier in the day on December 5."

When asked what sparked Wednesday's attack, the alleged victim told FOX 32 News she is a cheerleader the other girl was just jealous of her.

After the attack, the victim was taken to a local hospital where she was diagnosed with a concussion. The victim said she woke up Thursday morning feeling very poorly, and said her face really hurts.

The 15-year-old suspect's father spoke with FOX 32 briefly on Wednesday morning, but he did not want to talk about the incident.

The victim's father said things should never have gotten this far, and felt it was necessary to reach out to FOX 32. He plans on asking the judge to issue a restraining order against the 15-year-old to bar her from contact with his daughter.

"My daughter was brutally attack at Maine South High School. It's all over the Internet," the victim's father said.

Students at Maine South were also shocked by the video.

"She was telling us that there were some girls that was picking on her and we always tried to encourage her to stay strong and stuff. And we had no idea that someone would actually come out and physically hurt her," Anna Kolenda, one of the victim's fellow cheerleader's said.
