Doctors recommend getting flu shot now

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

State health officials are urging people to get flu shots even though the flu season is already hitting here hard.

The flu season normally doesn't peak until January, but has already arrived here in the Chicago area.

The shot takes two weeks to take full effect, so doctors are recommending that you get it now so that you are protected when Christmas holiday gatherings begin.
