Police in North Aurora are warning motorists to lock their cars and put them in the garage following a series of car burglaries.
North Aurora police are investigating reports of seven car burglaries that took place throughout the village since Nov. 19. Four took place in the RCA subdivision, two in the Highlands subdivision, and one in the Timber Oaks subdivision. In four of the burglaries, someone used a large rock or brick to break a window, police said.
Police said an iPhone, two wallets, and four purses were taken during the break-ins.
Two cars were burglarized on Nov. 19 in the 300 block of Harmony Drive. On Nov. 20, two cars were burglarized, one in the 600 block of Birchwood, and one in the 0-99 block of North Cherrytree Court. On Nov. 23, a car parked in the 200 block of Abbeywood Lane was burglarized, and on Monday, two vehicles, one in the 300 block of Basswood Drive, and on in the 600 block of Princeton Drive, were burglarized, police said.
All of the crimes have taken place early in the morning between 2:30 a.m. and 4 a.m.
