CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Firefighters made several rescues of residents Friday morning at a building on fire in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The fire was in a 2-story building at 2659 W. North Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs. Firefighters assigned to Truck 28 made several rescues from a second floor window, Fire Media Affairs said.

The rescued residents refused medical treatment and no other injuries were reported.

The still-and-box alarm fire was extinguished shortly after 8 a.m.

The CTA's No. 72 North Avenue bus was being rerouted in both directions in the area of North and California temporarily because of the fire department activity, according to a CTA rider alert.
