Stroger blames accounting error for missing campaign funds

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Former Cook County Board President Todd Stroger said an accounting error is to blame for missing campaign filings. $500,000 was left over from his re-election bid.

The money appeared on bank filings for the first quarter of this year, but did not in the second.

Stroger said it was an administrative issue. He is currently going through paperwork to pinpoint the problem.

Stroger lost the Democratic Primary to Toni Preckwinkle.
