Firefighters battled an extra-alarm blaze at an apartment building in the Far South Side Morgan Park neighborhood for several hours Saturday afternoon.

The 3-11 alarm blaze was being fought at 2030 W. 111th St., according to Fire Media Affairs. An EMS Plan I response, which sends at least five ambulances to the scene, was also called for, Fire Media Affairs said. As of about 2:50 p.m. the fire was a 2-11 alarm blaze. About 3:05 p.m., the fire was raised to a 3-11 alarm.

A Mayday call, for a firefighter in distress, was called at one point, but according to Fire Media it was quickly secured and the firefighter it was called for was found uninjured. There have been no hospital transports from the fire, though two residents were treated on the scene, according to Fire Media.

The fire was on the fourth and fifth floors of the five-story occupied apartment building.
