CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (Associated Press) -

Preliminary investigations show someone deep-frying a turkey on Thanksgiving caused a garage fire in the Chicago suburb of Crystal Lake.

Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department firefighters responded to the blaze Thursday afternoon. Officials say smoke and flames were coming from garage when they arrived. Authorities say the structure and its contents were a complete loss because of heat, smoke and water damage. No one was injured.

Authorities ruled the fire an accident and said it appeared to be caused by someone deep-frying a turkey in the garage. Damage was estimated at about $80,000.

The blaze remains under investigation.
