Constituents feel `hoodwinked` by Jesse Jackson Jr. resignation: Chat Room

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

On Thursday's Chat Room, consultant Rochelle Trotter and Sun-Times Splash editor Susanna Negovan discussed the resignation of Jesse Jackson Jr. and their reservations about Thanksgiving.

The congressman resigned on Wednesday, just two weeks after being elected back into office.

Rochelle says constituents feel hoodwinked - and what's worse, a special election will now cost taxpayers more than $5 million. Susanna says that the timing - the day before Thanksgiving - feels like another manipulation in a series of manipulative moves.

The ladies then discussed Thanksgiving and the social customs that should be avoided.

Susanna says shopping will dominate many dinners, and people leaving before 8 p.m. to shop at Walmart might upset family members. Rochelle says that she invites guests in waves to keep people who don't like each other apart.
