Naperville woman accused of killing children indicted

WHEATON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert B. Berlin announced Thursday a grand jury has returned a 12-count indictment against a woman accused of murdering her son and young girl she was babysitting.
Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, of the 200 block of East Bailey Road in Naperville, is accused of fatally stabbing her son, 7-year-old Justin Plackowska, and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting, Olivia Dworakowski, both of Naperville.
The indictment alleges five counts of first-degree murder against Plackowska for the death of Olivia Dworakowski and five counts of first-degree murder for the death of Justin Plackowski.
In addition, the indictment alleges two counts of aggravated cruelty for the stabbing death of two family dogs, a mixed-breed dog named Niki and a dachshund named Tootsie.
Plackowska's is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 21 in front of DuPage County Judge Robert Kleeman.
If Plackowska is convicted, she faces a mandatory sentence of natural life in prison without the possibility of parole.
