Firefighters battle two-alarm blaze on West Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Firefighters are battling an extra-alarm blaze in the East Garfield Park neighborhood Thursday night on the West Side.

The fire started Thursday afternoon in a vacant building the 3100 block of West Monroe Street and was elevated to a two-alarm response, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Firefighters remained on the scene as of 4:30 p.m.
