CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
One more thing, from Richard M. Daley.
I sat down with the former mayor late this afternoon at his Katten Muchin Rosenman law offices for a conversation covering a wide variety of topics, including the Petraeus scandal, and the growing storm surrounding Jesse Jackson Jr.
"Congress and federal government employees act differently than local employees," Daley said of Jesse Jackson Jr.'s possibly resignation. "I mean, you notice Congress is not even talking about it as one of their members within their operation. And so, it would have to be up to him and his wife to figure out."
And, as for army generals in trouble: "I can't understand how someone, an average citizen can have a friend in the FBI and say 'I'm being harassed over a man, would you investigate it?' And now, the federal government takes all the machinery and opens a federal investigation on harassment on two women over the Internet. That's the beginning of it," Daley says. "And you wonder, how can someone go and get a favor done in the justice department for a personal reason and how it was so easy to do. This was a personal discussion. A fight between two women over a man. I think it underlines in Washington that there is no such thing as a secret."
More of our conversation with the former mayor Friday night. You'll hear what he had to say about his controversial parking meter deal that Rahm Emanuel has criticized, his personal life after a life in public office, and his thoughts about Maggie one year after her passing.
