PONTIAC, Mich. (WJBK) -- 33-year-old Tanisha McDaniel was fatally shot after walking into her own home.  Police are calling it an obvious home invasion.

McDaniel, described on her Facebook page as a beautiful person, was found on the kitchen floor Tuesday evening by her husband of just one year.

"The husband came home, found his wife on the floor unconscious.  She had been shot multiple times," said Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe.

Police say entry was made through the back of the home.

"They had stacked some electronic equipment at the back door.  They were obviously getting ready to load up and go away, and then the confrontation took place and she was tragically shot," McCabe added.

McDaniel's car was stolen.  Police searched for it all night.  Then early Wednesday morning there was a break in the case.  Sheriff's detectives found the victim's car at Doctors' Hospital in Pontiac just a mile from the crime scene.  Investigators are now checking surveillance video from nearby businesses and the vehicle to see if anything was left behind.

Meanwhile, it's unknown how many suspects were involved.

McDaniel died late Wednesday afternoon.
