Emi is betting enough people will to put the fab four back on the charts for the holidays.
Audiophiles are debating the pros and cons of how these stereo re-masters sound. But one thing is certain: those original labels and album artwork that became extinct on CD and MP3 will remind you of where you were and what you were doing when you first bought these records. And that might be enough of a reason to buy this new collection.
If you still have a turntable, you'll be pleased to know that the albums are manufactured on high quality 180 gram vinyl.
When was the last time you dropped a needle on a record? Actually, although CD sales went from 150 million to 130 million in the last year because of the increasing popularity of digital downloads, sales of vinyl albums, still a very small share of total sales, are up 16%. And it's not the aging baby boomers buying them---millennials have discovered their richer, warmer sound and they're the ones fueling that market.
It's nice to know the kids have good taste, isn't it? There is hope.
