Beggar strikes man in face after he refused to give him money

NORTH AURORA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A west suburban man struck a man in the face and robbed him Monday after he refused to give him money when asked.
Jeffrey S. Greer, 46, approached a vehicle with a man and a female inside and asked for money about 8:40 a.m. at Thornton's at 418 S. Lincolnway in North Aurora, according to release from North Aurora police.
When the man refused, Greer reached inside the vehicle and struck him in the face and abdomen and took $13 before leaving the area, North Aurora police said.
The victim did not require medical attention, North Aurora police said.
Police found Greer near Provena Mercy Medical Center on Sullivan Road and he was arrested without incident, North Aurora police said.
Greer, of the 0-100 block of North Batavia Avenue in Batavia, was charged with felony count of vehicular invasion, a felony count of robbery and a misdemeanor count of battery.
Greer is currently being held on $70,000 bond at the Kane County Jail.
