Gov. Quinn launches `Illinois Joining Forces’ partnership for vets

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Illinois is launching a new public-private partnership to improve services for veterans.

Governor Pat Quinn attended an Operation Support Our Troops Event Friday morning at the Union League Club of Chicago with more than 250 non-profit, public and private leaders participating in Illinois Joining Forces.

Through IJF, participating organizations will work together to address gaps in services, to actively refer veterans and service members in need of assistance, and to offer better navigation of available resources and service to the public.

The program's website will eventually include a searchable database for resources in education, job training and other services.
