Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

There is still no response Friday morning from Jesse Jackson Jr. to a Sun-Times report that he is trying to work out a plea deal on corruption charges.

Jackson has not been at work since June and not been seen in public for months.

He did issue a written statement through his press office early Wednesday morning after he won re-election even though he never campaigned.

In that statement, Jackson said he was feeling better every day, but did not say when he might return to work.

Sandi Jackson, the congressman's wife, did not attend a city council meeting Thursday on the budget.
