Hiring Our Heroes: Veteran’s Job Fair in Oak Forest

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Dozens of veterans networked with potential employers at the Veteran's Job Fair in Oak Forest Thursday.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security along with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted the free special event in Gaelic Park, which included employers from the National Park Service, PACE, and the Social Security Administration.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce also offers help online for military veterans looking for work and employers looking to hire vets.
The unemployment rate among all veterans is nearly 6.3%, substantially below the national average. Joblessness for veterans, who have served in more recent years, is at 10%.
