Presidential inauguration date changed from constitutional amendment

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Planning is underway for President Obama's second-term inauguration.

The president's inauguration is scheduled for Monday, Janurary 21st, but the 20th Amendment to the Constitution states the date is supposed to be January 20th.

House and Senate officials say they switched the date because January 20th landed on a Sunday.

That's the seventh time that's happened since 1933.
