11/15: Spanish/Mandarin teacher

Multilingual Chicago is a growing language and cultural center in Avondale, Chicago. We offer teachers competitive rates, a great place to work, and an innovative curriculum.

Targeted Position:

- Spanish and Mandarin Language Teachers needed in Chicago, Illinois

- Spanish Language teacher needed in Evanston, Illinois

Position description:

- Teach 1-8 kids group Spanish classes per session. Each class meets once a week for either 3 hours, 90 minutes or 60 minutes.

- Teach 1-8 kids group Mandarin classes per session. Each class meets once a week for either 3 hours, 90 minutes or 60 minutes.

Qualifications:

- Past experience in teaching Spanish or Mandarin and communicating with groups of children

- Native language speaker or masters degree level of study completed in target language

- Basic computer skills such as word processing program and Internet operation

- Looking for a hard working, diligent and enthusiastic individual

- Must have a car or easy access to Chicago transit

Responsibilities (for kids classes):

- Brainstorm and implement creative learning activities for students based on language topics

- Report to program coordinators with weekly updates of class progress

- Be on time and prepared for classes
