CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
It's the end of the road for American Suzuki's car business. The company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Suzuki says they will stop selling automobiles in the United States as part of a restructuring plan. Instead, the company says it will focus on its motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and boat engines once it emerges from bankruptcy.
The company blames slow sales and unfavorable foreign exchange rates.
The bankruptcy and reorganization are unrelated to Japan-based Suzuki Motor Corporation.
