Illinois voted on possible state pension amendment

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Illinois voters also got somewhat of a say in state pensions during Tuesday's election.

Voters will decide on a proposed constitutional amendment that would require a three-fifths majority vote, rather than just a simple majority, before governing bodies can approve benefit increases.

Critics call the vote meaningless, as pension increases typically win overwhelming approval.
