Posted: Updated:

A west suburban man was ordered held on $200,000 bond for stabbing his girlfriend and slashing their infant son's legs during a domestic fight Sunday, according to police.

Nathaniel J. Nared, 26, of the 1000 block of East Benton Street in Aurora, was charged with two counts of domestic battery and once count each of aggravated battery to a child, aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery, according to a release from Aurora police.

Police responded about 1:15 a.m. Sunday to Nared's home after receiving a 911 call from his 22-year-old girlfriend, police said. The woman said Nared had stabbed her and their child.

The couple were arguing when Nared grabbed a knife and began swinging it at his girlfriend as she held the baby, police said. He stabbed her in the stomach, right shoulder and back; and slashed the infant twice in the leg.

The wounds to both the mother and child were non-life-threatening, police said.

Nared ran away, but an officer took him into custody a short time later near Galena Boulevard and Smith Street, police said.

He is being held on $200,000 bond at the Kane County Jail in St. Charles.
