Nation sees lower gas prices, especially in Chicago suburbs

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

If you've been to the gas station lately, you are probably a little happier than you were over the summer.

The national average price for regular gas is down to $3.55 a gallon. In Chicago, the average is $3.81. Outside the city, the average decreases to $3.59 per gallon.

Trilby Lundberg said the drop is due to Hurricane Sandy cutting into demand, and crude oil prices are declining.

Lundberg predicts prices will drop another $0.10-$0.20 in the next few weeks.
