CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Aurora police are asking for the public's help locating a missing teenage girl from the west suburb who has a history of running away and who police think may be in Chicago.

Maria Sanchez, 17, of the 100 block of North Kendall Street in Aurora, has been missing since June 11, an alert from Aurora police said. Police believe she may be somewhere in Chicago.

According to family members, Maria was supposed to go to a summer driving class at East Aurora High School the morning of June 11 but never showed up. Family members have not heard from her since she went missing.

Sanchez is a 5-feet-3, 180-pound Hispanic girl with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information should call Aurora detectives at (630) 256-5500 or their local law enforcement agency.
