NAPERVILLE, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

The woman accused of murdering two children in Naperville was denied bail at the DuPage County courthouse in Wheaton Thursday morning.

The babysitter was due in court at 8 a.m. Thursday, facing first degree murder charges. Prosecutors asked the judge to keep her behind bars with no chance of getting out.

Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, of Naperville, is in custody for allegedly fatally stabbing two young children, including her own 7-year-old son.

The suspect was babysitting Justin, 7, and Olivia, 5, while her mom, Marta Dworakowski was at work.

When Dworakowski came home from work on Tuesday, she did not see Plackowska's car and could not get into her home. A lock was set that wasn't normally locked. When she went to Plackowska's home looking for Olivia, she did not find either of them there.

Dworakowski called the police, asking for help to find her daughter. Naperville police found her son and a 5-year-old girl dead at 888 Quin Court, inside Dworakowski's home.

They found a "scene of unimaginable horror" upon walking into the townhome, with blood in the hall and the two children lying dead in the master bedroom. The police also found the two family dogs in the master bedroom, both dogs had been stabbed to death.

"At all my years in law enforcement, this is the most gruesome and horrific crime scene I have seen," Naperville Police Chief Bob Marshall said.

Prosecutors told the court that the children were jumping on the bed in the master bedroom, when Plackowska walked in, armed with a knife. She made the young ones get on their knees and pray. She told her son, Justin, that he was going to heaven that night.

Prosecutors said she proceeded to stab Justin 100 times. She stabbed Olivia 50 times. Both had their necks slashed. Prosecutors said both kids pleaded for their lives.

Police found two bloody knives in their investigation - a steak knife in the kitchen sink and another in Plackowska's car. They believe Plackowska planned her crime, but they don't know for how long.

Prosecutors said Plackowska told the police she was hearing demonic voices. She took the children to St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic church before they were killed, because there were demons threatening them. But, no one was there, so she called and left a message saying she had done something bad.

She fled to 727 Violet Circle after driving around Naperville, covered in blood. Her adult son was reportedly staying at the home. After the police were called, she said she was also the victim of a robbery. After the police put the two stories together, they took Plackowska into custody.

Plackowska also worked as a cleaning lady, and had become friends with the client that lived on Violet Circle. She had access to other clients' homes in the area, and she was friends with some of the families she worked for.

Prosecutors told the court that Plackowska initially said an intruder stabbed the children. She told them that a stalker had come into the townhouse intending to rob them, after she exited the house to smoke a cigarette.

She changed her story many times, saying instead of a stalker she was actually battling the devil in Dworakowski's home, then saying the children were poisoned by the evils of society and did not listen like they should, and finally said that she lied to the police at the beginning.

The accused eventually admitted that she killed Olivia and Justin, and that she acted alone.

Plackowska was reportedly upset after the recent death of her father, and had gotten into a fight with her husband because she wanted to return to her native Poland – but he did not want her to go.

Plackowska's husband works as a trucker, who she said made her angry because he was always on the road. The accused said she was left to care for Justin on her own, and had to take a demeaning job - according to Plackowska - as a cleaning lady to support them. She told police that he did not treat her well, or respect her as his wife, when he came home on the weekend, even though he would buy her flowers and gifts every so often.

Prosecutors told the court that Plackowska told police she wanted to make her husband hurt like she hurt, and that was why she killed their son. She told police that she killed Olivia because she had witnessed Justin's death.

"She did not feel that he truly appreciated how fine a wife and mother she was," DuPage County State Attorney Bob Berlin said. "She told the detectives that she thought by killing Justin, she would make her husband hurt the way she hurt in their relationship."

She belonged to St. Elizabeth Seaton Church. She joined the congregation about a year ago. Justin Plackowska made his first communion in May.

Plackowska came here from Poland 12 years ago on a vacation visa and once lived in Des Plaines. She has no criminal record - just a few traffic violations. The judge also ordered Plackowska to relinquish her passport.

A neighbor said she was never friendly.

Plackowska is due back in court on Monday, Nov. 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Neighbors and other parents in Naperville are stunned.

"I'm kinds at a loss for words to think of how you…" Randy said. "There's just no justification for what would have motivated someone to do such a crazy, incomprehensible thing - so it's just awful."

"It makes you sick," Nina Trimble said. "It just makes you heartsick."
