CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man was killed and a woman critically injured in a West Pullman shooting Tuesday night on the Far South Side.

The duo -- both 18 years old -- were shot about 7 p.m. in the 600 block of West 122nd Street, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala, citing preliminary information.

The man was shot in the head and multiple times throughout the torso, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

Paramedics took the man in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, authorities said. The man -- identified as Earl Cunningham, of the 12200 block of South Union Avenue -- was pronounced dead at 8 p.m., according to the Cook County Examiner's office.

Authorities said the man had gang affiliations.

The woman was shot in the head and listed in critical condition at Christ, Greer said.
