BRIGHTON, Mich. (WJBK) - FOX 2 is following a developing story along the Interstate 96 corridor.

There were earlier media reports of another shooting, possibly linked to a recent series of roadway shootings in southeast Michigan.

But FOX 2 spoke with Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte who says this morning's incident was NOT related to the roadway shootings.

He says two drivers were involved in a road rage incident on I-96 near Spencer Road. No shots were fired and no one was hurt. Michigan State Police confirm the same information.

They're asking drivers not to panic and to remain calm during their investigation to find the person responsible for the random gunfire.
