Two men were arrested for stealing the wheels from a car parked car in north suburban Evanston early Tuesday.
Police responded about 2:45 a.m. to a report of tires being removed from a Honda parked in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue, Evanston police said in a statement.
The victim positively identified a man who police saw walking in area, police said. Police also stopped a vehicle that was driving away from the area and found the stolen tires and the tools used in the theft.
Ricardo Gaytan, 21, of the 1800 block of West Huron Street; and Angel Castrejon, 21, of the 1900 block of West Superior Street, were charged with one felony count of theft each, police said.
