Paying for fast lanes, unconventional wedding dresses: Chat Room

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

On Monday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash editor Susanna Negovan and consultant Rochelle Trotter discussed traffic congestion and wedding trends.

First, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning announced a plan to get drivers to pay more for new expressway "fast lanes." Is this a good idea?

Susanna says yes; it gives drivers the options to pay more when they're in a pinch, and also - for people who don't want to pay more - promotes the use of public transit. Rochelle disagrees; she says that it's yet another way the city is trying to squeeze more funds out of taxpayers, and adds that in other American cities, congestion lanes are free.

Also, Jessica Biel is the latest bride to don a pink wedding gown (Reese Witherspoon and Ann Hathaway wore "blush" to their recent nuptials). Is this a bona fide trend - and is it a good thing?

Rochelle loved the romanticism in Jessica's dress, while Susanna said it was a boring choice for someone who wears more interesting gowns on the red carpet.
