Donald Trump questions President Obama, truth in advertising: Chat Room

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

On Thursday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash Editor Susanna Negovan and consultant Rochelle Trotter discuss Trump and truth in advertising.

Donald Trump has swung his media mogul power once again in relation to President Obama. He recently challenged the President to release his college transcripts in return for a donation to the charity of the President's choice. Has he gone too far?

Susanna, a self-professed Trump-o-phile, thinks it's old news. If the question is about President Obama's credentials, then Trump should just remember that he has the most highly-credentialed job there is - President of the United States.

Rochelle agreed, stating that this just shows how little Trump really has to say. The president had high grades in college and should not be evaluated on his G.P.A. – instead, on his performance in office. She stated that regardless of the charity offer, he still should not release his transcripts - as that's truly an insulting request.

The controversy continues, over how much is too much when it comes to altering a models image for press? An ad was recently pulled which featured a highly altered facial image of Natalie Portman, with criticism that it is false advertising.

Susanna thinks that consumers should expect that images they see are altered in some way. Rochelle stated that while there should be awareness of image-altering, it doesn't necessarily translate into understanding - and the lack of understanding is what creates the issues with eating disorders and the like.
