Englewood church caught fire in three-alarm blaze

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Firefighters extinguished a three-alarm fire at a church early Friday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

A 2-11 alarm was reported about 4:15 a.m. in the 400 block of West 70th Street at the Love Faith and Praise Church of God in Christ, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The fire was escalated to a 3-11 alarm, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The fire was through the roof of the building, according to Fire Media Affairs. Collapse zones were set up.

The flames were extinguished about 5:35 a.m., Fire Media Affairs said. No injuries were reported and a cause for the fire wasn't immediately available.
