Four critically hurt in Austin shooting

CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

Four people were wounded in a shooting Monday night in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 9:24 p.m. in the 200 block of South Lavergne Avenue and wounded at least three people, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said, citing preliminary information.

Paramedics took four people shot to John H. Stroger Hr. Hospital of Cook County and Mount Sinai Hospital, all in serious-to-critical condition, Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva said.

Further details were not yet known.

Area North detectives are investigating.
