Banana Boat recalls flammable sunscreen

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A popular sunscreen is being recalled because it could catch fire on people's skin.

The maker of Banana Boat is recalling 23 types of its Ultra Mist Spray-on Sunscreen. The company says there have been five reports of people being burned in the past year.

Ultra Mist does have a warning on the label to keep it away from flames or sparks.

The company says the problem appears to be that the bottle is spraying too much of the lotion, which means it's staying wetter longer -- and that increases the risk of fire.
