With costumes, pumpkins and a masquerade ball, Marissa Conrad of Time Out Chicago has something for everyone. If you're aren't ready for Halloween just yet, try relaxing with some wine and good food.

Discover the latest trend in wine—blending—and even get the chance to make your own blended wine at this event at Fleming's. You'll taste three red wines from Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley, learn the basics of blending and then create your own perfect mix. The evening also features food from Fleming's small plates menu. Highwood is into breaking records. Join its Guinness World Record attempt Friday (6pm, 8pm) for most people carving simultaneously ($10 to carve) and new this year, the "lit-pumpkin" record, where participants will attempt to light more than 32,000 jack-o'-lanterns in one location on Saturday (9am, noon, 6:30pm).The current record is 30,919, set by Highwood itself, but this year they're competing against Keene, New Hampshire, who first set the record in 1996 and is trying again. The event also features a petting zoo, rides, a pumpkin totem pole carving contest, pet costume contests and a pumpkin race, where contestants roll 200-300 pound pumpkins down a 150-yard course.
