CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

William H. Macy is no stranger to Chicago. The veteran actor of movies and TV got his start at Chicago's St. Nicholas Theater Company.

Macy went on to win 2 Emmy awards, and an Academy Award nomination for his role in "Fargo."

There's big buzz over his latest film, "The Sessions," in which Macy plays a Catholic Priest in 1960's-era California.

"The Sessions" opens in theaters Friday, Oct. 19, starring Helen Hunt and John Hawkes.

The film is based on the life of poet Mark O'Brien (Hawkes), a man in an iron lung who wishes to lose his virginity with the help of a sexual surrogate (Hunt).

"Good Day Chicago" producer Jason Cooper sat down with Macy while the actor was in Chicago filming episodes of his hit Showtime series, "Shameless."
