CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

All lanes on the Chicago Skyway reopened Wednesday morning after a construction crew damaged the interchange near the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) early Tuesday, according to Illinois State Police.

Contractors doing maintenance for Metra made a miscalculation with a cutting device while working in the area about 2:15 a.m., according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Illinois State Police were advised that the Dan Ryan portion of the bridge was not damaged and is structurally sound, according to ISP District Chicago Master Sergeant Joseph Stangl.

The Skyway ramp was reopened Wednesday morning about 5 a.m.
