CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Right place, right time: While on patrol overnight, the Guardian Angels found a woman who had been robbed along the CTA red line and helped nab the teens responsible.

The victim said she was southbound Red Line on the Near North Side around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, when at least three people robbed her of her iPhone5.

The Guardian Angels escorted her off the train at Grand, called police and turned on the app to track the stolen phone with her email account, according to a statement published by the group.

The woman said four teens attacked her from behind and stole her phone. The suspects matched the description of teenagers the Guardian Angels had seen earlier during their patrol.

The stolen phone was found to be traveling west on Chicago Avenue towards the CTA Brown Line station.

The suspects had boarded a southbound Brown Line train before police arrived but officers followed the train and were able to take two suspects into custody at the LaSalle and Van Buren stops. The stolen iPhone was recovered from one of the suspects.

The woman positively identified the suspects, who were charged with robbery, according to the release.

The victim is expected to be okay.

Two of the four Guardian Angels on patrol were the same ones who were stabbed May 15 by two men who pistol whipped a CTA passenger and stole his iPhone, the release said.

Chicago Police did not immediately have information on the incident.
