
As a large storm system approaches from the west we will see southerly winds usher in an increase in Gulf moisture which will saturate the atmosphere overhead.
A line of gusty storms and heavy rain will form overnight and blanket the Chicago area late tonight and through much of Sunday.
Rainfall amounts will be highest north of I-80 and could range from 1.5" - 3.25".
Once the storm passes Sunday afternoon we will see an increase in winds from the west ahead of an area of high pressure.
The pressure gradient between the departing low and approaching high will be strong and winds could gust as high as 40-50 mph.
A wind advisory will be in effect for parts of the area all day on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday are dry and breezy.
Several disturbances pass us Wednesday-Friday and there is a chance of rain each day.
SUNDAY: Cloudy and windy with several rounds of strong storms and heavy rain. Rainfall totals 1-3" Highs in the near 66 and lows near 45.
MONDAY: Partly sunny, windy and cooler with highs near 60 and lows near 42.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny and windy with increasing clouds and a chance of rain in the evening.. Highs near 70 and lows in the low 50s.
WEDNESDAY: Overcast with periods of rain. Highs near 69 and lows near 48.
THURSDAY: Cloudy and windy with scattered showers. Highs near 60 and lows near 43.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Highs near 58 and lows near 42.
