Animal droppings found in Hirsch High School kitchen

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A Chicago high school on the Southeast Side called in exterminators after rodent droppings were found in a kitchen and two students got sick earlier this week.

Sanitation crews scoured the Hirsch Metro High School cafeteria, at 77th and Ingleside.

The kitchen was closed down Wednesday and students got cold lunches this week.

CPS said a pest control team would also go through the facility Friday, and the kitchen should be back in operation by Monday morning.

Chicago Public School officials said they're also working with the health department.
