NAPERVILLE, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

The city of Naperville worked to get its website up and running again Tuesday morning, after being hacked.

According to Naperville officials, 500,000 attempts are made daily to hack its website and e-mail systems.

But this one - made on Oct. 2 - was successful. The site has been shut down for several days because of a computer virus planted by a hacker.

The city is currently running a temporary page to provide residents with basic information on where they can get help with various problems.

Naperville officials said no credit card information has been compromised and that they have launched a criminal investigation to find the hacker.
