Most Illinois patients with meningitis symptoms cleared by tests

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Nine people have died from the meningitis outbreak linked to contaminated steroids. More than 100 people are sick in nine states, including 11 people in Indiana.

No cases have been reported yet in Illinois.

But five patients treated at three Illinois clinics that may have used the tainted medication have been screened for fungal meningitis.

The Associated Press reported that the medical director of APAC Centers for Pain Management said four of the five patients got "reassuring results."

The last results have yet to come in.
