Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The 34-year-old runner who collapsed and died in last year's Chicago Marathon might not have had enough water.

According to an autopsy report obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, medical examiners said North Carolina firefighter William Caviness died as a result of dehydration.

His widow disagrees.

But either way, officials say to keep hydrated while preparing for the Chicago Marathon this year.
